Don't let the name fool you - we enjoy getting out to different parts of the Northwest,
not just our little piece of paradise near Spokane. The trails and climbs on the
west side of the state are usually pretty busy but not so much so that we'd pass
em up when given the opportunity. Teri enjoys biking so we have a few of her biking
trips on here. The kids would rather eat a bug than wander down a trail but we're
always looking for some of their activities to throw on here as well - video games,
crafts and lurking at the mall don't seem to fit the theme though. |

Teri and I took Mortimer on a a short 6 mile hike today. We saw lots of deer and elk on the drive over, which takes a few hours from Spokane. The road is paved all the way so it goes fairly quickly.
The trailhead is at a wide spot off the main road and we drove right by it. If you're following the directions from the "100 hikes in the Inland NW" book, subtract a mile from the directions and keep an eye out on the right side of the road for the... |
